Connor, Part II

Some posts are harder than others to write.
Last week we celebrated a new soul in our family.
This week, so sadly, he died.

A soul's impact cannot
be measured
in time.

He is so deeply missed.

Connor Benjamin.
Fierce. Awesome. Loved.
Eternal.

Diving

Human life is very deep, and our modern dominant lifestyle is not.
~Bo Lozoff
I am where I am for a reason.
I love the marvelous, mysterious, mystical and simple ways
God breaks through thick skin and calloused heart.
I am willing to dive beneath the surface and into the depths of Love.

Feel Good?

...in the very moment that your intention shifts
to a determination to “feel good”
rather than a determination of “manifest something,”
not only will you become a consistently happy person,
but all things wanted will flow easily to you.

Connor Benjamin!

A baby is God's opinion that the world should go on.
~ Carl Sandburg

We interrupt your regularly scheduled bloggage
for an appearance from Connor Benjamin.
Born on his mother's birthday.
Awesome. Fierce.  Connor.
Welcome!

His family is so happy to finally have him here.

Naturally...

Life is a series of natural and spontaneous changes.
Don't resist them
- that only creates sorrow.
Let reality be reality.
Let things flow naturally forward
in whatever way they like.

Words

Or is that too much work,
to think before you speak?
For some people, it is.
 It's a lot of work.
For all of you who want to walk a spiritual path,
I suggest you stop and take a look
at all the things you think
and all the assumptions that you make...
 before you speak.
Try some discipline
and see if you can,
for a whole week,
just watch your thoughts.

Deception

...nothing good is ever created by deception.

Not even the smallest untruth,
not even the most well-intended "white lie,"
will produce benefit in the long run.
So tell your truth as soon as you know it.

Yes, yes, I know....
"But then...but then..."
So you'll have to decide
which of the "But then's" you want.
There will always be a "But then."
Yet shall it be
one you endure,
or one you create?

If it's control you want,
telling the truth
puts you in total control.
Ever think of that?

Birthday Poetry

Awesome fierce birthday poetry
from an awesome fierce friend,
written on a the eve of my illustrious day.

"Twas the night before Sixty
and all through the house,
you could hear her joints creaking,
you could hear how she groused.
With I in my forties
and her pissed at that,
she tried for hours to start a good spat.
When arose on the lawn such a clatter and squall,
I knew in a minute it was menopause, y'all."

It was a beautiful day.
And I experienced some beautiful
touching surprises.

Intuition

Trust your hunches.
They're usually based on facts
filed away
just below
the conscious level.

Labor Day in Spirit

It is not only prayer
that gives God glory
but work.
Smiting on an anvil,
sawing a beam,
whitewashing a wall,
driving horses,
sweeping,
scouring ...
To go to communion worthily
gives God great glory,
but to take food in thankfulness and temperance
gives Him glory too.
To lift up the hands in prayer
gives God glory,
but a man
with a dungfork in his hand,
a woman
with a sloppail,
give Him glory too.
He is so great
 that all things
give Him glory
 if you mean they should.
~ Gerard Manly Hopkins
